Summer 2010 Renovated Facilities at the HEd
July 19, 2010 - Monday

It is believed that a blessing is to pronounce a wish of happiness onto someone, or to set apart for holy purposes, to praise or glorify God or the Lord Jesus Christ, to speak God’s goodness to one another. Furthermore, as the passages in the bible goes “it is simply to confess his generosity and to render thanks to Him; this is the creature’s first duty” (R 1, 21). Even the great philosopher Socrates adds that our prayers should be for blessings in general, for God knows best what is good for us; In its diverse meanings and implication, this only goes to show the value and exaltation which is present in a blessing.
That is why in connection to the 2nd year administration of our beloved president, Sister Maria Lorina A. Jumawan, RVM and in thanksgiving for the bounty and prosperity which the school has been receiving, it is fair enough to bless the new equipment and facilities we were able to put up through the hard work, prayers, and contributions of all the personnel and administrators of the school. Held last June 19, 2010, the blessing was presided by Fr. Albert De Lara and was participated by the administrators, students, staff, and faculty of this institution.

The blessing started at exactly 9:30 A.M. at the newly renovated student lounge, after which the priest together with the participants went to bless the new equipment and renovations of the clinic, then they went to the newly constructed engineering lab on the second floor, then to the third floor where the newly renovated auditorium could be found, and finally, went down to the last station which was the chapel. After the blessing of the new facilities, a mass was celebrated that started at exactly 11 A.M. and ended at around lunch time which concluded the entire ceremony.
Indeed, through such events, SMC’s Higher Education Department becomes richer in spirituality and faith. Also, it exercises our sense of gratitude and exaltation to our creator to whom all of our efforts and sacrifices would be nothing without him. This only goes to show that indeed we are being true to our commitment to one of our core value-
FAITH. “
Vivat, Criscat, Floreat” - May it live, grow and flourish.
