Held last June 5 - 7, 2010 was the 3-day seminar workshop for the incoming student leaders of the institution at the Conference Hall, Assumption Building where in it practices and motivates the skills of the students. The Community-Building Seminar was not just intended for the Higher Education Department but as well as for the Basic Education Department who also has the capability to become good leaders.
S. Ma. Elisa A. Lavarias, RVM was the facilitator on the said seminar and she discussed essential keys of becoming an effective leader and handled it very well. All students who participated had innate in their selves of being responsive and perseverant in all the tasks they were assigned to do.
There were a lot of activities we did that would really test our attitude and knowledge. To be specific, the activities were Dessert Survival - to test our teamwork, Pyramid Building - to test our patience and teamwork, Square Puzzles - to test our knowledge and patience. These certain activities gave ourselves a lesson that we should have to apply in our lives. It molds us to become good leaders. With this, it built camaraderie to each one of us and to learn from our mistakes.
All throughout, the seminar gave us a deeper meaning on what a good student leader is. Each one of us is capable to be a good leader. One thing for sure is the patience that we must have in order to reach our goals. We should always have a positive outlook to be able to come up with a sure positive outcome.
