Last July 24, 2012, another round of “SAMBISIG” or the 8th Blood-letting Activity was conducted at the Student Lounge in the Main Campus from 8:00 in the morning up to 5:00 in the afternoon. The bloodletting activity was organized by the Clinic headed by the Health Coordinator, Peter E. Dela Vega, RN in cooperation with the Administration and the partner institutions, the Philippine National Red Cross and the ABS-CBN Northern Mindanao.

blood_1 Before the start of the activity, a fervent prayer was made by Miss Fairy Queen Enriquez, a nursing student, afterwards a welcome address was delivered by Dr. Romero C. Hermosilla, the Vice President for Administration. Then there was a talk on the “PLEDGE 25” which was given by Ms. Tatiana Sonora from the Philippine Red Cross Team. The “PLEDGE 25” is a statement indicating a promise and showing genuine love by willingly giving one’s precious blood without expecting any return.  After which, a review of the “SAMBISIG” milestones was delivered by Mr. dela Vega. The activity continued with bloodletting which was participated by the Faculty and Staff, Michaelite Students and other concerned people. The successful activity was able to produce a total of 99 packs of blood which were given to the Philippine Red Cross.  In its 7th SAMBISIG, the school has donated to the Red Cross 119 packs and was also given an award of being supportive to the vision and goals of the Red Cross. Two plaques were given to Mr. de la Vega who received the award in behalf of the Administration.blood_2

The SAMBISIG activity indeed encouraged every individual to continue the mission of being humble servants of God, who care for his creation, who are, his/her fellowmen.
